A personal letter

A letter from Dr. Sajad Zalzala

To my patients and those considering care with me,

I have always taken pride in being a thorough, caring doctor. I want to understand what someone is going through, look closely at the details, and help them find a path forward. Giving people that time and attention has long been central to how I practice.

Telemedicine offered a way to bring that approach to more people. Before the pandemic, I began working in this field because I saw the chance to make care easier to access. I wanted to reach beyond the people who could walk through my clinic's doors. Working across state lines also means keeping up with different rules and requirements.

My work in telemedicine has involved medical board reviews and licensing actions, some with ongoing requirements. In some roles, I encountered documentation challenges within systems I did not design or fully control. I continue to address those requirements and improve the processes that support my patients.

My commitment to careful, personal care has remained constant. I continue to work with colleagues, improve documentation and follow-up, and give patients clear explanations and next steps.

For patients, this includes written visit summaries and instructions through my clinic's portal, so you can refer back to your plan. Clearer notes help me track your care over time. I also request relevant lab results more consistently to help guide our next steps.

I could choose to focus my work on a local, in-person practice. I have continued to pursue telemedicine because I believe making thoughtful care more accessible is worth the effort. I want to keep helping people who might otherwise struggle to reach a doctor with my approach to care.

In my own clinic, that approach remains personal and thorough. I want to hear what is troubling you, understand your goals, and explain the reasons behind the care I suggest. As we work together, I want us to look at what is helping and what needs to change.

I remain passionate about medicine and about finding better ways to help people feel and function well. I will keep learning, weighing new ideas against the evidence, and improving the care and support I offer.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I welcome your questions about my background and what care with me would look like.

Warmly,

Sajad Zalzala, MD
